Cannabis Twins Saladaeng Eating Guide

Quite possibly our second most asked question by our customers after "which strain do you recommend?" (and after consuming said strain), is "where can we grab some food?".

As a Cannabis Twins customer, fear not, and let us be your guide to lead you onto the path of stoner culinary salvation in the Saladaeng neighborhood with our own personal recommendations for the best grub in our area.  All of our recommendations are aimed at visitors to the area and everything listed below is well within walking distance from our dispensary.  Disclaimer out of the way, lets get down to it!

1. Our Front-of-Soi Street Food Joint

We can’t start out this list without a shout-out to the joint that keeps us fed on a daily basis, the local street food vendor located at the top of our soi (street). Serving up all the classic Thai street food favorites stir fried on their giant wok, they can whip up literally anything, but our favorites are the traditional pad-krapao (your choice of protein, usually pork or chicken, stir fried with holy basil) topped with a fried egg (kai dao).

If noodles are more your thing, try the mama pad, which is literally Mama-branded instant noodles stir fried with vegetables, dashes of fish and oyster sauce and your protein of choice.

2. Somtum Der

First opened in New York, Somtum Der received critical acclaim among the foodie crowd over there before opening their only restaurant in Thailand in Saladaeng.  Our goto place for traditional (and not so traditional) Northeastern Thai food, also known as Isan food.  Odds are you've had payapa salad in the past, but this place takes papaya salad to the next level.  The Isan-style grilled beef (or chicken) is also not to be missed, along with the Lab Tord (deep-fried spicy minced pork, author's personal favorite) and Tom Sap Kra Dook Aon, or the Spicy Isan pork cartilage soup.

3. Dusit Gourmet - Baan Dusit Thani

Located on a serene piece of property dating pre-WWII, owned by the Dusit hotel group, Baan Dusit Thani offers a wide range of food options, but for our purposes, if your munches are setting in before lunch and brunch food is what you’re after, this place has you covered. From pastries to hot food, sit down and chill with your favorite caffeine hit and enjoy the rare bit of greenery amid the concrete hellscape that is Silom.
